FAMILY

Marikay has lived in Greensboro her entire adult life, moving here in 1972. She worked at a local university for 13 years before becoming a small business owner. Being the owner of Mahi’s Restaurant for 22 years gave her a sense of how valuable locally owned businesses are to the City economy.

Her husband has also been a small business owner for 30 years. She met her husband, Isa, in Greensboro and they have been married for 44 years. Her two boys, Joey and Michael, are her pride and joy and are also small business owners in Greensboro.
